The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
Near the Village of Canyon is the entrance to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The Yellowstone river meanders through the rolling hills and plains south and east of the Canyon. The the waters of the river spill over a couple of dramatic waterfalls, making its way through very tough, steep and rocky terrain. There are numerous viewing spots along the way. The Canyon is 1200 ft. deep in some places, and is about 4,000 ft. wide. Lower Falls, shown above, is a tumble of 308 ft.
