Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to over 600 species of birds. Although we only got a handful of photos of these creatures, it was a delight to see so many gathered in the wild. Most of these photos were taken from a boat on the Kazinga Channel, and there were literally thousands upon thousands of birds in this area. Favorites:

• Fishing eagles - grand, graceful, beautiful paired eagles
• Saddle-billed stork - brilliant colors and noble stature characterizes this bird
• Marabou stork - this is a huge bird, well-known to Ugandans, and seen everywhere in Kampala
• Rednecked spurfowl - a beautiful bird that spends most of its time on the ground
• Egyptian geese - seen all over the savannah as well as at water holes - very colorful
• Hadeda Ibis - a graceful bird with striking coloration
